Roaming Free From The Big Social Networks
Cosmydor was designed around the core value of “virtue”, a principle the brand strives to uphold in all aspects of its business — from organic and no-petrochemical ingredient sourcing to its no-plastic container policy, artisanal manufacturing, low CO2 transportation, etc.
Recently, the brand has been reassessing its presence on social media, feeling an increasing disconnect between its values and those of the platforms.
Three years ago, Cosmydor stopped all advertising spending on Meta. Since then, the brand has closed its Twitter/X account, significantly reduced its activity on Facebook and Instagram, and chose not to create a TikTok account.
Given how far these platforms’ strategies have diverged from the brand’s, the time has come to discontinue using Facebook and Instagram entirely.
This decision means sacrificing significant potential consumer reach and past investments in content creation, leaving LinkedIn as the sole social media platform — which is not ideal for showcasing creative content. To compensate, Cosmydor will be relaunching the “Journal” page on its website.
Still, staying true to Cosmydor’s values matters more than clinging to platforms that no longer align with its DNA.
IT ACTUALLY FEELS SO GOOD!
